Sheffield Parks, Woodlands and Countryside

Sheffield is one of the greenest cities in Europe and you will never find yourself far away from woodland or a Sheffield park, built on 7 rolling hills and separated by valleys  Sheffield is a place to visit not only for the  modern day facilities but for its wealth of natural beauty.

With Shefffield woodlands, urban parks, Sheffield countryside and many other green areas attracting over 25 million visits every year.

Sheffield City Council maintain the majority of parks to an excellent standard, features of Sheffield parks range from tennis courts, Crown green bowling, Cafes and Coffee Shops, Pitch and Putt, Table tennis, Fishing, Playgrounds,  Cricket, football, Museums, Minituare Steam railways and much more.

There are  specialist parks in Sheffield like the Peace Gardens just off Ecclesall Road. Weston Park which is near the very heart of the city of Sheffield, right next to the Sheffield University and the Childrens Hospital and hosts events throughout the year.


If taking a walk in the woods is in your interests then Sheffield has Woodlands all over the city, where you can choose a  gentle amble to walk off lunch or a full days hike there is a woodland area to suit.
