Sheffield offers plenty for the shopaholic - from the largest shopping centres and to the usual range of high street favourites complemented by exclusive boutiques, department stores and artisanal craft shops and jewellers. Fans of shopping malls won't be disappointed - Meadowhall is close by offering 270 stores, an eleven screen cinema and 12,000 free parking spaces (get them to advertise with you!). Sheffield is justifiably proud of it sporting heritage - did you know it was home to the first ever official football club in 1857 which diversified into Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday The renowned Crucible Theatre plays host to the World Snooker Championship and the English Squash Open is also held in the city. Don Valley International Athletics Stadium is one of the world's largest athletics arenas, seating more than 50,000. Sheffield Ski Village is largest artificial ski resort in Europe and the city has two indoor climbing centres. Unsurprisingly, Sheffield was UK?s First National City of Sport and made a recent bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
